Am at 7,420 words for NaNo. My goal is to hit 10,000 by the end of today, to make up for the day or two I lost while scrambling to create the characters I'd forgotten I needed for Ranna's half of the story.

There are Girl Scouts out in force today, with tables set up in Collegetown and Ho Plaza, all of them selling cookies. Not just taking orders. Selling cookies, right here, right now. I caved. I couldn't help it; Thin Mints are one of my secret vices!

Beautiful day up here, by the way. Warm and sunny and calm -- feels like September again.

Oh, and last night some of us in the house watched "Return of the King," mostly for the battle scenes. There's something very tension-relieving about watching people hack at each other with sharp objects. (There is a reason my hometown friends have a tradition called "Bad Action Movie Night," you know...)
