This would be the non-dark continuation of Tension, Before, or at least how that story starts. Sasuke POV. It still feels a little off to me, but I am attributing any character shifts to the aftereffects of three years with Orochimaru and Kabuto. (Pay no attention to the author behind the curtain...)

First Steps )

Tonight, I am going to work on "Secrets." Because I have been neglecting my HP fic shamefully these past few weeks, and I do want to see Ginny's initial reaction to Hermione becoming a cat-person. :-)

My relatives are screwy. And I'm not even talking about my Libertarian uncle, who breeds cats, is trying to start a bed and breakfast, flies lightweight airplanes, and only got married for the tax breaks. No, I'm talking about my mom's other brother, the IRS lawyer.

(Yeah, those two don't get along particularly well.)

He and his family are always, always late with birthday cards, holiday cards, and thank-you notes. Always.

They have apparently acknowledged this, but they haven't resolved to do better. They've taken a different route. Today I received a birthday card, 7 weeks late, containing a check for $20.75.

The 75 cents is interest.
