Last night, the newly-formed young adult group went out to dinner (four cheese ravioli with chicken and veggies in cream sauce... mmm...) and then to a poetry reading. Which was pretty cool, actually, and has inspired me to see about fixing up some of my old poems and thinking about writing a few new ones.

(I used to write maybe 1 or 2 poems a year, but I've slacked off lately. The last new thing I wrote was... Christmas, 2003, which was a present for Ardis. And then over summer 2004 I finished revising a poem I started in spring 2003.)

This morning was the last day of regular Sunday school, until September. And then I stuck around for the annual congregational meeting, which was, unsurprisingly, massively boring. These things always are. But they're necessary, and we approved the budget, amended the bylaws that describe the Nominating Committee, and approved a vision statement for the church.

I actually got to participate -- granted, it was just making them add a necessary comma, but participation is good.

And I got a mug for being a teacher all year long! This is cool, because I only have one other mug, and I use it for brushing my teeth so it's kind of not available if I want hot chocolate. (I have a tea mug, but it's nicer, and not big enough for a full mug of hot chocolate.)
