Last night I attempted to cook dinner and discovered that the pilot light for the oven had gone out. When I tried to turn it on, it stayed cold and began to smell strongly of gas. This is not what one generally wants an oven to do.
This morning, I called NYSEG and they sent a man out to look at it. He relit the pilot light (for future reference, it's at the back of the broiler) and then checked for leaks. It seems that the oven/range combination, being old and rusty beyond belief, should probably get its flex hose replaced sometime this coming year, and replaced with one made of aluminum or stainless steel, not plastic. *sigh*
At least the oven works again now, though it smelled absolutely disgusting when I first turned it on, and it set off my fire alarm until I opened a couple windows and turned on the bathroom fan. It settled down after that, though, and I successfully heated a frozen TV dinner thing for lunch. *flexes cooking muscles* Go me!

Worked on my gift stories. Upon discussion with my mother, decided to write a poem for my grandmother instead, since we're not sure she can mentally follow a longish story anymore, and she does like poetry. This puts me in a bit of a crunch, but I will do my best!

I just 'wasted' maybe half an hour going through all the "Apartment Manager" lj entries and adding links to them, so it can be read smoothly through, and so the clean, ff.net version is linked to from every chapter. I plan to keep up that format with "Guardian," because ultimately, if I don't make it easy for readers to find the stories, why am I bothering to post them at all?
Tomorrow I think I'll put links in "Tides."
