Lo, we are arrived safe in Madison, and I am caught up on my email. Presently, I shall slumber. :-)

Tomorrow, I think I shall finish "Finding Marea" -- either that or go back and rewrite a couple scenes in "Beauty," because I realized during my trip that I misconstrued the relationship between Grace and Hope, and that's throwing off the lead-in to the climax. (You see, I've constructed the relationships and magic in such a way that either Ricky or Hope could help Grace, if they realized it and could fulfil certain conditions... but Hope never even looked for a solution. Still, they need a relationship such that the potential solution could be made to work, otherwise I lose a significant piece of my conflict. *sigh*)

ETA: Actually, I didn't nap, and am currently suffering from the irritating condition I call tired-but-not-sleepy. Instead, I fixed the problems with Hope's early portrayal in "Beauty," so she comes off more as a person and less as Evil Stereotype Girl. This is always good. I'm still not quite feeling the next scene in the climax lead-in, though -- I know more or less who and what must be in it, but not what happens, and it's not there in my fingertips. "Finding Marea" is in a similar situation -- I know what the next scene is, but not how, really. I need to send Harai from Kos through the Bannery Hills to the riverlands, via the Abbey of St. Amil, and probably with another holy pilgrimage site at the far end of the journey. I need her to meet Larachine Enu and hear the third version of Marea's story. But the mechanics of this escape me.

Then again, the mechanics of the Peruthy scenes kind of came out of freaking nowhere, so perhaps tomorrow I'll simply sit down and start writing. We'll see what happens on the page.
