After putting it off for several months, I have finally made an appointment to get my eyes checked and buy new glasses. It's on Tuesday, at 11:30am. I'll have to walk to the place, which is on Meadow St. and south of the bus station -- that probably makes it half an hour away by foot. Blecch. I hate walking down in that part of town, because it's so busy, heavy-traffic, and full of strip-mall type stores and giant parking lots. It's really not pedestrian friendly like the center of town and the Commons.

But! I shall once again be able to see clearly. And then I can go switch my driver's licence from New Jersey to New York, which I'd been avoiding in case they make me do a quick eye test.

--------------------------------

My landlords -- Mr. and Mrs. B and their sons Q and A (yes, really) -- are back in Ithaca. Embarrassingly enough, despite the giant U-Haul truck, I didn't actually notice them move in.

This is because the previous downstairs tenants had a giant U-Haul truck that they were loading stuff into when I left for work a few days ago. When I got home, there was still a giant U-Haul truck in the driveway, and I assumed it was the same one.

Apparently it wasn't. If I'd been paying attention, I would've thought about the fact that it was practically empty, and realized that that was very suspicious considering how long the truck had apparently been sitting there.

Swear to god, though, those two U-Haul trucks were like identical twins. Often the trucks will at least have different ads painted on their sides, but no such luck here.

*shrug*

In any case, I've paid my July rent and we've made tentative arrangements for Mrs. B to clean my windows sometime next week.

----------------------------

I think, in keeping with my general fit of Real Life productivity, I should probably get my hair trimmed. I haven't had it cut since June '05, and it's been getting a bit ragged at the ends.
