I swear, if my brain weren't fixed inside my head, I'd take it out for cleaning and then walk off and forget to put it back in.

Yesterday I meant to go to the bank to get some paperwork things taken care of, but I forgot that I had to print out a letter, which meant I had to hit a comp lab first. Then, once I'd printed the letter and was ready to head downtown before work, I remembered that I needed my checkbook, which was conveniently sitting on my coffee table back home.

*headdesk*

So no bank. I will try again on Monday.

Today I went to mail "Finding Marea" to Cat, arrived at the post office, put the story into one of those ReadyMail envelopes, sealed it... and realized I'd forgotten her address. The clerk was very kind and let me buy actual stamps for it (instead of one of their nifty printed label things, which apparently only work when you immediately hand the envelope over to them, or something) and I will fill out the rest of the address and drop it off after work this evening.

Still, this means it won't actually start moving until Monday.

*double headdesk*

Some days, I really should not be let out of my apartment.

ETA: I got home around 6:30pm and dug out Cat's address. Then I realized I'd written MA instead of CT and had to white it out. I left the envelope to dry, and then scooped it up to mail while my laundry was in the wash at the laundromat... except I forgot to write CT and the area zip code.

So now the envelope is sitting in a locked mailbox, with only a town and no state code or area zip code, and all I can do is hope that either Cat's town name is unique enough that the story will reach her anyway, or the post office will be kind and send me back my envelope so I can do this over again and get it right.

...

I really should not have been let out in public yesterday. I don't know where the hell my brain was, but it sure wasn't working properly.
