I stopped by work to get my schedule for next week, and discovered that I have, effective this week, a pay raise! Granted, this raises my hourly wage from crap to, well, still crap... but I should now be bringing home $20 to $50 more per month (depending on my hours), which will make paying my rent and electricity bills much less tight. Currently, I can pay my rent, utilities, and food costs from my job income, but only by the skin of my teeth. Even $20 more will be incredibly helpful, and a great mental comfort, and will mean that I won't be draining money from non-renewable things like, oh, say, my savings account.

The tipping point in action, see? A little increase at exactly the right point can make a big difference. :-)

In other news, I think I should have chapter 7 of "Guardian" finished tonight and posted tomorrow. I just need to bash the final scene around a little to make it work.

(Yukiko does not appear in this chapter at all. Should I be as amused by that as I am? I dunno. Well, when you have four POV characters, you can't expect them all to show up in every chapter, especially when some of them aren't doing anything noteworthy at the narrative timepoints in question.)
