[Fic] "Tabloid" -- Harry Potter
Oct. 18th, 2006 02:42 pmAs part of my resolve to finish "Fixation, and Other Stories" by the end of October, here is another
thirtyforthree ficlet!
Theme: #25 - Looking
Warnings: none, unless Rita Skeeter needs her own warning. *evil grin*
( Tabloid )
---------------------------------------------
This makes 23 posted, I believe.
Last night I wrote the 28th ficlet, called "Quietus," which is a very dark future. It is also, oddly enough, narrated by Remus Lupin. Yes, the same Remus Lupin whom I have never before managed to work into a story in more than a couple throwaway lines for verisimilitude and local color. I don't think the 'voice' sounds all that much like Remus, but the story demanded a particular tone, and partway through the second section, I realized that my narrator A) was a person involved in the story, not a sort of hovering omniscient observer, and B) was Remus, had to be Remus, for various plot and character reasons.
Then, of course, I had to go look up tables of full moons in 2001, but that's a small bit of research and easily done.
You know the best part, though? I now have at least one fanfiction title for every letter of the alphabet. I am torn between amusement at the accomplishment, and mild despair over the fact that I cared enough to make that happen.
(I'm not really obsessive-compulsive. I just look like I am.)
