random life update
Jun. 21st, 2007 03:22 pmWe had a very nice little thunderstorm for about one hour, between 1:45 and 2:45pm. Now it's back to being sunny and cheerful and fairly low humidity.
Weather is weird.
Today I will be training our new new guy -- name of OH -- in the delicate and complicated art (hah!) of closing the store. It's been a pretty slow day, because they're ripping up the intersection at the end of the Commons so it's hard for people to walk through the mess to our block, so this should go easily.
(Also, just for future reference, D-the-new-guy will henceforth be called DW, to distinguish him from my long-time coworker DB. Of course, since DB is moving to Binghamton in a week and a half, this is all kind of pointless, but I like to keep things straight. *grin*)
---------------------------------------------
In writing news, I cut out the scene where "Guardian" started to go wrong and wrote what should have gone there in the first place. I have also taken a metaphorical machete to my outline. I think things will move faster now, both in-story and in terms of my writing speed.
It is such a relief not to be bashing my head against the bone-deep certainty that something is subtly off.
