snow and mini-research thingywhatsit
Dec. 13th, 2007 04:04 pmThe forecast was 6-10 inches of snow.
So far, we're at 4-7 inches, I think, depending on your exact location around Ithaca. (There's always less snow down on the flat than up in the hills. The lake mitigates things.)
I will probably be shoveling when I get home, and then again later in the evening, because it's supposed to keep snowing through 5pm or so, and then we get another band of snow sweeping through. It may snow all night, though I, for one, certainly hope it tapers off sooner!
---------------
In other news, I realized I had no idea what Japan was like around 300 BC (which is my private timeline date for the second holy war in Angel Sanctuary -- I didn't pick that date out of thin air, but my reasons are kind of long and complicated, so let's just leave it at "That date creates the fewest contradictions for me to handwave," okay?), and did some quick research. That seems to have been right around the transition from Jomon to Yayoi cultural patterns, which is very interesting. I don't know that it's particularly relevant to my story, but it's definitely interesting. *grin*
Anyway, I think I can have the next segment of "The Transient and the Eternal" up tomorrow or Saturday.
