Last night I figured out a way to finesse one of the central plot problems in "The Guardian in Spite of Herself," which does not involve turning any of the characters into complete OOC idiots, nor (technically) qualify as a deus ex machina cop out! In fact, I could even argue that it's inevitable for this to happen, given the particular character I settled on as my salvation. :-)

Also, I have sent chapter 5 of "Strange Likenesses" to beta, and hope to have it posted by Saturday, and I am still plugging away at everything else. (That seems to be mostly "Secrets," at the moment. Chapter 12 is expanding on me, which is annoying but not unexpected, and I'm sure I'll dredge up the willpower to slice out at least some of the extraneous stuff before anyone else has to suffer through my rambling.)
