smoke shop news; moving update
May. 19th, 2009 01:02 amAO had to leave work early on Sunday because of a family emergency. I had turned the sound off on my cell phone while I was at church, and I forgot to turn it back on when I left, so I didn't get the message informing me about this until I was already on my way to work. So I did cashup two hours late instead of, say, half an hour late, and MS stayed until 5:30pm instead of leaving at 5:00, and though things were a bit squished for time, we managed to get everything done.
Fortunately, AO was not scheduled to work on Monday, but I am not sure what's going to happen to her shifts this week, especially since PM has been covering shifts at the Elmira store because one of their employees is out indefinitely with a medical problem.
---------------
Yesterday I talked to Mr. B, who told me that he and Mrs. B want to start remodeling in mid-July, so I can't have any real extension on my lease. On the other hand, they are willing to let me stay here through, say, July 10th without paying any rent past June 30th, which is very nice. The trouble is that A) I have to find an apartment in a month and a half, and B) my parents (whom I am relying on to help me rent a truck and cart furniture around) will be going to France on, I think, July 8th. And while Mr. B offered to help me move, the Bs will be going camping for a few days around July 4th, so I'm not at all sure how to coordinate that with any other potential aid... unless I move on July 1st or 2nd, which is disconcertingly soon.
I don't want to move! I don't want to go apartment-hunting! I don't want to call people, and do budget projections, and inspect facilities, and ask about ways to knock off $25 in rent in return for yardwork, and all that other stuff! (Which reminds me, I am not sure if I paid a damage deposit when I moved in to my current apartment. I should check that; if I did pay one, I would like the money back. After I scrub the bathtub to within an inch of its life, of course, and attack all the dusty baseboards with windex, of course.)
