So. Um. I kind of wrote Star Trek fic? It's Sarek/Amanda, and early enough that it could fit into either TOS or AOS continuity. I am probably getting Vulcan culture and Spock's ancestry wrong in various ways, for which I apologize, but it has been over ten years since I was actively involved with Star Trek, and anyway, I am not sure how much commonly known stuff about Vulcans is canon and how much is fanon, so perhaps it is not too inexcusable to be vague.
This story also features bonus T'Pau, because T'Pau is cool. *grin* Except T'Pau (sometimes? always? only in formal ceremonies? argh, why can I not remember these things!) uses a weird semi-archaic dialect. I know she uses 'thee' where she ought to use 'thou' -- I am told this is called the Quaker 'thee,' and it drives my inner grammarian nuts -- but I don't recall what verb conjugations or possessives she uses. I have gone with modern English second-person singular conjugations and 'thy.' If that's wrong, please correct me!

I want to cross-post this in a shameless attempt to pimp myself, but I don't know where. I mean, I wrote this thinking of the new movie, but there is nothing within the story that specifically says AOS. On the other hand, there is equally nothing that says TOS only -- it's set before the split point -- and I was, as I say, thinking of the new movie...
So should I pimp it in a new Trek community or an old Trek community? Because from what I have seen, it matters which you pick, for most characters and scenarios, but I don't want to choose, because, as I keep saying, this story works for both continuities.
Oh, fandom, why are you so complicated???
