1. Packing is of the devil.

I am going to run out of boxes. This is okay; I have paper bags. Also, I can enlist my parents to bring more boxes up with them on Friday.

I am halfway through packing my books. I have sorted a couple boxes of stuff for my landlords to try selling in their yard sale on Friday. I have packed up some linens and assorted junk from my kitchen, and one box of knick-knacks.

...

I have so much left to do! *wails in despair*

2. Thursday morning I pick up my key, do some measuring for curtains and carpets, and check the cleanliness, size, and number of the kitchen and bathroom cabinets so my mom won't freak out at me for not knowing how much cleaning she'll have to do before she lets me put my plates away.

(If you were ever wondering where I got my it's-not-OCD-really-it's-not-I-can-stop-anytime-I-want-to tendencies from? It's totally my mom's fault. But I blame my dad for my inability to explain anything without laying half an hour of background information to make absolutely sure you understand me when I get to the actual explanation. *beats head against desk*)

3. I am now the owner of a bicycle and a bike helmet, courtesy of my coworker AO. But I left them at work overnight because I was bringing home a box and because it's hard to ride a bike while carrying a tote bag. So I am going to put my tote bag in a backpack when I go in to work; then I will be able to ride the bike home.

4. Cooking is such a pain in the ass. I started chopping the onions and potato at 9pm, but it was 10:30 before I could sit down and eat the damn beef stir-fry thingy. At least it tasted good? (Mmm, soy sauce...) And I have leftovers for Thursday night, which is handy. And my freezer is now empty except for ice packs. Victory!

5. It turns out the Tompkins County library system does have a copy of Doctor's Orders, which is now in my possession courtesy of interlibrary loan. My requested copy of Spock's World was also ready for checkout. So I have lots and lots of Star Trek to read while I go crazy with the move. Yay?

6. I won my not-an-argument with my landlords by producing bank statements to prove that I DID SO pay a regular monthly rent in June 2006, in addition to the last month's rent I paid upon moving in. So I don't have to pay rent this month. My budget is very happy about that. :-)
