Three completely unrelated things:
1. I have two Dreamwidth invite codes. Does anyone want them?
-----
2. I am having a recurrance of the
computer problems that plagued me last fall, only this time instead of just freezing the screen after running for a few minutes, my computer is refusing to start 9 times out of 10.
I have no idea what the problem is, but I KNOW it is related to my move. My computer was fine in my old apartment. I turned it off, unplugged the cords, carried it to the new apartment, plugged the cords back in, turned it on... and it wouldn't start properly. It has been intermittently crashing ever since.
If this doesn't fix itself within a day or so, I am going to call the Geek Squad and make them reinstall all my damn software, which they said I should do if this problem occurred a third time. Well, this is the third time. But I will be damned if I go mucking around in my software on my own, because I have NO FUCKING CLUE what I would be doing. (Do not try to explain to me. I do not have the background to understand your explanations. I intend to remedy that someday, but this is not that day.)

3. I spent two and a half hours this afternoon cleaning my old apartment within an inch of its metaphorical life. There is still some dust in the hardest-to-reach corners, and a metal piece fell off one radiator, and a plastic water-baffle (or water-guard) that Mr. B installed fell off the bathtub when I tried to scrub it... but these are minor issues, and the bathtub itself is about twenty times cleaner than when I moved in, so whatever.
I still have some stuff to haul over to my new place -- my vacuum cleaner, a box of old art projects and notebooks, two boxes of boxes (for wrapping and mailing Xmas and birthday presents), one container of cleaning supplies, several bags of clothes I am donating to my church recycling sale -- and a bunch of trash and recycling to put out either there or here. But that's just mopping up.
Basically? I am done with my old place. And that feels good.
