What I did today:
1. Slept in. Sleep is delicious. :-)
2. Paid my credit card bills. There is a weirdness on one statement that is, I think, a 70-cent error in my favor (it is a charge to Hal's Deli, but the amount is the price of a Subway roast beef 6-inch sub, not a Hal's Deli fish fry... and it's kind of sad that I have such regular, unchanging orders that I know their prices by heart, isn't it?), but I am not going to bother pointing that out to the company. I would totally give the change back if it were a physical transaction done in person, but dealing with credit card companies is way more bother than it's worth for something this minor.
3. Wrote 500 words or so of "The Guardian in Spite of Herself" ch. 13, which is now at 3,575 words in rough draft. Currently I am watching semi-random conversation unfold among Yukiko-tachi while waiting for Kurenai to turn up with plot-relevant orders, which I need to figure out how to word very carefully so as to disguise the creaking of plot strings as much as possible. It may not be possible to disguise them very much, since I am working overtime to fill in a plot hole I discovered only after I'd done my rough plot outline for the whole story. See, I realized one major aspect relied on quite a lot of characters collectively holding an Idiot Ball, and since I am trying to write characters who don't act like brainless morons, this is problematic. *wry* Anyway, I think this will be the final scene in the chapter, which means the scene where Naga-tachi investigate Kaiminori and start to track Itachi northeast into Volcano Country will move to the start of ch. 14.
4. Volunteered to teach RE this coming Sunday if necessary, as one of my co-teachers will unexpectedly be out of town. I am secretly crossing my fingers and hoping the other unscheduled co-teacher will volunteer in my place, or my fourth co-teacher will say she doesn't need help, but I suspect those outcomes are unlikely. Ah well, teaching is fun even if I do like my weeks off. :-)
