And here we are at the end of chapter one. Isn't that exciting? *removes tongue from cheek*

Anyway, two brief reaction scenes and some setup for future events. (925 words)

On Monday or Tuesday, I will do a final check on these sections and post them as a unit on ff.net and probably the AO3 as well.

...You know, this chapter is about 11,000 words long when the parts are put together. I wrote it in 10 days, give or take a few hours. I cannot remember the last time I wrote anything at that speed that wasn't a challenge response for which I was about to miss the deadline. Life is very strange sometimes.

Anyway. Onward to chapter two, daylight, and Eames's appearance as my third POV character!

The complete and slightly edited version of chapter one (i.e., parts 1-8) is now up on AO3! It is 11,050 words long.

I would post it to ff.net as well, but it turns out Laurell Hamilton hates fanfiction and ff.net has agreed not to host any stories based on her work. I figure it is best not to cheat the rules and pretend "Weregild" is a pure Inception story when the Anitaverse elements are so integral and blatant.

In other news, my parents arrived shortly after 11am. We did not hit the road until about 12:15pm, after which we drove north to four vineyards in fairly rapid succession: Goose Watch, Knapp, Cobblestone, and Swedish Hill. We picnicked at Goose Watch.

We intended to buy ice cream at the Cayuga Creamery on our way back, but it was absolutely jam-packed with people and we decided we didn't want ice cream that badly. So we returned to my apartment, whereupon they collected their dog and we adjourned for a nap.

We went downtown in search of dinner around 6:45pm and ended up at Sahara, a newish restaurant specializing in Greek and Middle Eastern food -- Mediterrannean cuisine, as I think they call it. They seemed a bit disorganized, but the food was good.
