1. My NFE recipient gave me an embarrassment of riches by way of prompt ideas and I didn't just want to pick one and ignore the rest, so I've been turning them around and around in the back of my mind trying to work out how to include a whole bunch at the same time. Today I finally figured out the scenario, and it is going to be wonderful fun. Now I just need a plot and some research... *rubs hands in evil glee*

2. That Homestuck update! (By which I mean the pages from [S] Dirk: Synchronize to [S] Dirk: Unite.) Wow. From awesome to oh fuck to complete ridiculousness back around to awesome, pulling tight a whole bunch of plot threads and offhand references as it goes. Damn, I love this story. :-D

3. It turns out that RE does not have a car. Furthermore, PB asked me to cover his 4-9pm shift on Wednesday, which means that BW and PM (my two coworkers who do have cars) will not have any hours off overlapping with my hours off until maybe Saturday evening. Well, or before 11am on Wednesday. This holds true even if we just rearrange shifts so BW works 12-9pm that day instead of 11am-6pm, because I would not ask him to help me lug around an AC right before heading in for a 9-hour shift. That would be mean.

Very frustrating!

But!

My mom called tonight and has offered to drive up from NJ, help me pick up and install the AC, do lunch, and then drive back down to NJ on Wednesday. I think this is nuts. I also think it is probably going to end up happening.

My parents are weird. Sometimes their weirdness has useful results. *wry*
