Dammit, this is a FUN story. FUN!!! It is silly and it amuses me and it's even in a style I have previously played around with (more or less) and it leads up to a fun ending and...

(500 words, FYI. A completely different 500 words from my previous attempt, because I did need to delete all of them and start over in a completely different style. This fic is all about stylization, not about my normal narrative voice, and especially not about my world-building obsession.)

This is the most ridiculous thing I have written in months.

Yes, even more ridiculous than the Homestuck fic where the kids end up with sparkly rainbow blood.

Seriously.

(1,700 words. Sometimes, strict and formulaic patterns are your friends -- if you know exactly what has to happen, you can just go ahead and make it happen and all you have to worry about is word choice. *grin*)
