I ended up working about 1pm-6:30pm on Sunday and leaving AS with a detailed cheat sheet on closing procedures -- he asked a bunch of questions, I reminded him of some other stuff and verified that he had a key, I did a few other necessary things (like the weekly instant lottery ticket inventory and order), and then went home and crashed.
The fever lingered through... oh, I'd say Monday morning, but has since cleared up completely. I have also had two minor instances of diarrhea since Saturday -- one each Sunday and Monday nights -- and a couple brief periods of mild nausea. (Thank you, ondansetron, for stopping those dead in their tracks!) But aside from the world's worst case of gas (*holds nose*), I have basically felt fine since midday on Monday. Tired, for sure! But fine. And today I even had some spare energy, whereas Sunday I practically fell asleep on the register drawers when doing cashup and Monday I am pretty sure I slept through my phone's alarm when I took a nap on break, because I woke up a full ten minutes later than I should have.
This renewed energy is good, because... Wednesday is Surprise!Inventory Day!!!!!
(The exclamation points are sarcastic, btw.)
Apparently there is some accounting error at STNC, so both the smoke shop and our sister store in Elmira are under orders to do a special edition of semiannual inventory, otherwise known as "the day we manually count every freaking item on sale, and a bunch of supplies as well." Our sister store took their count on Monday. We take ours tomorrow. That will be the exact opposite of fun.
However, then I have Thursday and Friday off in a row -- like an honest-to-gosh weekend, and who cares that it's the middle of the week? -- and I think I may do some serious housecleaning and actually put away the clean laundry I brought back from NJ last week and have been letting sit around wrinkling because I have not had the health or energy to deal with it.
Also, I actually opened a Word document tonight and started work on the next section of "Trollstuck." :-) I've only written a hundred words so far, but it feels so good to be making something again instead of just kind of painfully existing, you have no idea.
Now I am going to do some online housekeeping and then get back to writing. :-)
