grumble, mumble, argh
Dec. 1st, 2012 11:55 pmThings I have done today:
1. Sleep through my phone's alarm while taking a nap on my lunch break. Apparently I can open my eyes and fumble around on a touchscreen for a snooze button without actually waking up. Who knew? (Also wow, I had not realized I was that tired. I have been trying to take naps to compensate for my trouble making myself go to bed at a reasonable hour, but apparently it's not working as well as I'd hoped. Mnrgh.)
2. Slam my left thumb in the safe door at work. It is a big safe, probably a four cubic foot block of metal, and the door is heavy. Also very unyielding. Fucking OUCH.
Fortunately it was only two minutes until official closing time, so I just locked the door early, killed most of the lights in the front room, and retreated to the bathroom to run cold water over my abused thumb for several minutes before I felt up to limping my way through the rest of closing procedures.
I currently have an incredibly unattractive sickly blue-black smudge caught under my thumbnail, which will most likely linger there for at least a week until the nail has grown out enough for me to start picking dried blood out from the newly exposed underside of the keratin. Bleh.
