[Meme] AO3 hit counts
May. 4th, 2013 04:19 pmI'm a couple weeks behind on this meme, but whatever.
Here are last year's results, for comparison purposes. This year I have 66 stories up on AO3 -- not quite twice as many, but close. The additional fics are almost all new stories, since the furthest I got with crossposting old work was tossing up "Five Years Is an Awful Lot of Later" and "First You Have To Get There," which are, respectively, the first fanfic I ever wrote and its direct sequel.
This means that my AO3 catalogue of works is still disproportionately weighted toward Homestuck, remixes, and tiny Yuletide fandoms, and away from the huge backlog of my Harry Potter, Naruto, and Chronicles of Narnia stories.
With that said, here are my top ten stories on AO3, by hit count:
1. What Isn't Broken (Can Still Be Fixed) - 5,109 [Naruto, remix]
2. Trollstuck - 2,289 [Homestuck, chaptered, WIP]
3. I Must Increase My Bust - 2,237 [Homestuck]
4. Weregild - 1,912 [Inception/Anita Blake, chaptered, WIP]
5. Sparkly Rainbow Blood - 1,736 [Homestuck]
6. An Intricate Courtship Process - 1,665 [Homestuck]
7. A History of Handcrafts (Because a Sweater Equals Love) - 1,664 [Star Trek 2009, remix]
8. Ass O'Clock in Dusseldorf - 1,564 [Homestuck]
9. Four by Four - 1,459 [Homestuck, chaptered, WIP]
10. Dreamers of the Day - 1,436 [Inception]
The changes between this year and last year basically reflect my headlong descent into Homestuck fandom, which is not surprising! I am also not surprised that "What Isn't Broken (Can Still Be Fixed)" remained far and away my most popular story, for the same reasons I wasn't surprised at its popularity last year.
( top ten by kudos count and some further thoughts )

And now I am going to take a nap, because I came down with a vicious cold on Thursday and didn't notice until I woke up Friday morning, because my seasonal allergies did a spectacular job of masking the initial symptoms. I managed to get my Friday shift trimmed by two hours, and I slept about twelve hours each Thursday night and Friday night and have been carefully doing nothing today, but I am still tired and stuffy and generally cruddy feeling. So yeah, sleep.
It is the best medicine, after all. Not even laughter works better. *wry*
