"Secrets" as a physical object
Aug. 5th, 2013 01:31 amOr at least the printout drafts of chapter 5 through the epilogue, minus chapter 11. I'm not sure what happened to the printouts of chapters 1-4 or chapter 11 (maybe I recycled them?) but even without those five chapters, my rough drafts make for a very overstuffed file folder. You can also see that I wasn't kidding when I said I hacked at them with red pen. *wry* (Or green pen, or blue pen, or whatever was available... though always red, for preference. It's more visible.)
The scrap papers tucked diagonally under various chapters are either outlines or longhand drafts of scenes. The scrap papers along the left edge of the grid are random longhand notes about specific characters and/or the story as a whole. One of them is a diagram of house tables in the Great Hall; another is an attempt to work out quidditch match schedules. And, of course, the timeline is courtesy of the Harry Potter Lexicon -- apparently I printed a copy on May 26 all the way back in 2002. I guess I was planning for the long haul from the start, in some ways.
