Man, that ficlet just did not want to end -- not in the sense of "It wanted to be an epic!" but in the sense of "What the hell am I supposed to do for a final line?!" I'm still not thrilled with it, but I am tired of fighting what is supposed to be a quick and fun exercise. So here you go,
