wherein Liz rambles a bit
Feb. 8th, 2014 07:56 pmMy parents have been and gone, dinner was eaten, opera was listened to (and watched, mostly -- I had a little illness-and-NyQuil-related trouble keeping my eyes open near the end of each act), presents were opened, and now I am drinking tea and winding down in preparation for bed. (I will try for a better write-up when I'm less spacey.)
I have attempted to excuse myself from teaching RE in the morning, but thus far I have only heard back from one of my co-teachers (who can't fill in), so I suspect I should get up temporarily around 9:30ish and call the DRE just to make sure she knows I'm unavailable and can maybe dragoon a parent into subbing for the day. :-/
I hate flaking out on RE, but it's either that or flake out on work, and frankly, flaking out on work would be worse. Tomorrow is the final day of training New Hire #2 how to do Sunday closing, so she can take that shift when I have Finger Lakes Chamber Orchestra tickets.
Hmm. I really ought to give nicknames to our new hires, shouldn't I? Okay. New Hire #1 (aka SA) is hereby dubbed Serenity (because she is nearly unflappable and exudes calm to other coworkers), and New Hire #2 (aka RM) is Hipster Girl (which is slightly unfair of me, but it's what comes to mind).
