3 things: lack of storms, half-written ficlets, blood donations

Quick notes of no particular import:

1. I was very disappointed that Ithaca did not get thunderstorms on Tuesday as the weather forecast had promised. :-(

2. I kind of wrote half a ficlet about Shezan and her mother discussing Ilgamuth, which elaborates a little on the finer details of a courting dance (possibly retconning some of the extra-canonical statements I've made? I dunno, I'll have to check that) and is also about politics and stuff. It was meant to be a 15-minute fic, but I was writing it longhand at work on Monday so obviously I failed the time restriction even before I set it aside unfinished. I'll probably get back to that sooner or later.

3. I have an appointment to give blood Thursday morning, so I had better get to bed now seeing as it's already Thursday morning, technically speaking, and it's a bad idea to give blood on too little sleep.

wherein Liz's return to college hits a puzzling snag

A few days ago I got an email from the college to which I applied, basically acknowledging receipt of my two college transcripts. I was a little surprised there was no acknowledgment of my high school transcript, but I figured it was just one of those weird institutional phrasing quirks you run across now and then, since I'd sent all three transcripts in the same cover envelope.

Except today I got an email saying there's a hold on processing my application and I need to send in a high school transcript or equivalent.

Um.

Yeah.

So I sent a reply saying, in a slightly more polite and long-winded form, "I already DID send you a high school transcript. It was in the same envelope as the college transcripts you said you received, so I'm baffled that you don't think you have it. Possibly it got misfiled or accidentally discarded along with the cover envelope! Please double-check just in case, and if you still can't find it, tell me so I can call my high school and have them send you a replacement directly."

This delay may mean I've missed the processing period for the September term and won't be able to start classes until the November term. Which is not the worst fate in the world, but still. Annoying!
