Well, I wrote stuff today. I think I wrote nearly a thousand words on my anonymeme fic -- maybe more if you count ones I then thought better of and deleted. But I'm not done. And I would like to be able to delete a good 300-500 of the words I still have.
You see, I think I have all the elements of the ending, but I can't figure out the right order in which to put them, nor how to make them flow logically from one to the next. And I've been working on this all day and I think I've hit the porridge-brain state where I could literally play mix-and-match with paragraphs and come up with better results than I'm getting by attempting actual thought.
...
Nrgh.
Hopefully I will see things more clearly tomorrow.

In other news, I paid my bills, sorted through about 1/3 of the accumulated stuff that's been piling up on my tables and counters for the past several weeks, put out the recycling, cleaned the bathroom (and bleached the shower curtain while I was at it, because yuck, mildew), folded and put away laundry, acquired some necessary supplies for repotting the next five peppers that are ready to move to new and bigger homes, took a bunch of photos of the Fall Creek gorge right beneath Ithaca Falls, and walked into town and back because exercise is good for both physical and mental health.
I also watched the last twenty minutes of the USA vs. Portugal World Cup match, which was... tense. And exciting! And then even more tense, and mildly heartbreaking. But hey, a 2-2 draw is pretty impressive for us under the circumstances.
I had to watch via the Univision website, which is streaming all group matches for free. I'm not sure if they will continue doing so once the knockout matches start, but for now, hey, I will take it. It's not like you really need to understand Spanish to follow the action, after all. :-)
