wherein Liz's day does not go to plan
Feb. 1st, 2016 10:20 pmToday was going to be my "Liz applies to twenty gazillion jobs" day, but then I got a call from...
Uh, hang on. Background.
So as I said last year, there are three Not the IRS offices in Ithaca: one down in the valley, and two up on one of the surrounding hills. Of the two hill offices, one is in a shopping mall, while the other is simply near a shopping mall. (The same mall, actually.) I am currently working in the two hill offices, which will henceforth be known as the mall office and the plaza office; their respective managers will be known as Mall Boss and Plaza Boss. (These two people are replacing Hill Boss, who ran both offices last year but is now working elsewhere. The valley office is still run by Valley Boss.)
So I got a call from Mall Boss saying that her office was swamped, and could I please come in and provide additional coverage even though Monday is my day off. I said okay, and there went my afternoon and evening.
On the one hand, yay money and experience! On the other hand, I am not going to come anywhere near my target number of job applications for the day. *sigh*
...
Okay, time to go look up the job one of my plaza office coworkers told me was going to come available today.
