Pepper update!

All twelve are doing well. There's only one of the mature plants that doesn't have any visible buds, flowers, or peppers (which I think is a squirrel repellent problem), and even it may develop some over the next week or two. The Lazarus pepper continues to grow, and even though it's about two months behind the others, it may yet bloom sometime this fall. :)

As you can see, the early flower has become a recognizable pepper, about the size of my thumb's distal phalange. Several other plants are blooming and two have even progressed to the fingertip-button stage of actualfax peppers. (I have no photos of those because they tend to come out blurry and useless.)

I rearranged the pots last week in anticipation of thunderstorms, and decided to leave them in the new configuration. (There is a hole in the gutter right over one of my kitchen windows, which can get overwhelming for plants too close to either the resulting waterfall or its backsplash.) Basically I took the two pots that used to form the center and right of the front row and moved them to extend the back and middle rows rightward. (This left only one pot in the front row, which I guess is not much of a row anymore. *wry*) The Lazarus plant is thus in less danger of getting knocked flat by water, and the tall plant that used to sit beside it is no longer in danger of soil leaching. Success all around!
