wherein Liz is very tired
Mar. 18th, 2018 10:42 pmI had a list of stuff to get done today, and I did... half of it, maybe. Which is mostly because I took two naps (one at church -- look, when I am there to facilitate the youth group but no youth appear, and I am not enamored of either the guest preacher or the guest musician, obviously I'm just going to zonk out on a couch for forty minutes instead of pretending to be awake and alert in the back of the sanctuary -- and one in my own bed after lunch) for a total of nearly four hours.
Apparently I was very tired!
Also my period started at midnight last night, so I have been feeling kind of grumpy and out of sorts. I don't know that I'd call my period cramps painful, precisely -- there is some pain, and my abdomen is kind of tender and twinges sharply when pressed, but mostly it's a persistent, distracting discomfort: a little nausea, a little heat, and a general sense of squeezing and ugh-why-me. Anyway, I take a lot of Advil for the first two days or so, after which it tapers off and there's just the general leaking from bodily orifices. Blargh. (I may also have a slightly distorted sense of lower torso pain, since I have persistent mild/moderate lower back pain and consequently tune out a lot of signals from that area of my body.)
Anyway, I'm going to fall into bed soonish (once I clear off the clean laundry I dumped on top of my comforter for sorting/folding) and hopefully tomorrow I will be more functional.
And hey, despite the tiredness and naps, I did still manage to get up and go to church, boil some eggs, change all my linens, do laundry, and write my to-do lists for the rest of the week, which is not what I'd call a lost day. It's just that I wanted to do more. *sigh*
