wherein Liz does stuff
May. 28th, 2018 09:35 pmToday I:
1. Did laundry, both the three regular biweekly loads and two seasonal changeover loads (my comforter, my afghan, my little fleece blanket, and my winter coat). Thank you, past!Liz, for having the foresight to get two rolls of quarters from the bank last week; that was an excellent bit of planning and preparation.
2. Walked to Bed Bath & Beyond (2.5 miles each way in ~90F weather, ugh) to buy a small fan to sit on top of the divider between my living room and kitchen, because my apartment was apparently designed by a person who hated airflow and without a fan there my kitchen broils in the afternoon. (My old fan broke last summer and I put off replacing it for various reasons, but I figured I'd fix the problem NOW instead of just stewing in misery all summer.)
And yes, a bus would have been a much better idea, but TCAT doesn't run on Memorial Day and this was the only day until next Monday that I will have time to run major errands. *sigh*
3. On my way home from Bed and Bath, stopped by Trader K's (a local secondhand clothes store) and bought three new work-appropriate short-sleeve shirts, which I then handwashed in my sink and hung up to dry. Then I weeded out two old shirts I never wear and put them in one of my donation boxes. (You know, I will have to sort those sometime in June... *makes note*)
4. Wrote to-do lists for the coming week.
5. Vacuumed my apartment.
6. Took out the trash.
7. Steamed some broccoli for tonight's dinner and tomorrow's leftovers, and took the scraps out to the communal compost bin.
8. Plonked away a bit more at the beta job.
...
As with yesterday, there's some stuff I had on my list and didn't actually get to, but I feel better about today overall -- perhaps because I woke up feeling less sludgy, or perhaps because the tasks I completed are more physical-labor-intensive.
Or maybe just because laundry irritates me, I loathe long walks in summer heat and humidity, and I intensely dislike vacuuming, so conquering unpleasant chores feels more like an accomplishment? Eh. Either way, stuff got done and I'm in a good mood, so. :)
