I have successfully acquired all pieces of a birthday gift to my beloved younger sibling, well over a month in advance. \o/

The question now is whether I mail them or whether I hand them off to our parents when they visit Ithaca for my birthday in February, since they will doubtless visit Minnesota in turn.

Physical hand-off is cheaper, but I might go with the mail option if only as payback for the way that my own birthday gifts have been sitting in my closet tempting me with their bright, cheerful wrapping paper since I came home after Christmas. Temptation loves company, after all...

Stuff done today:

1. Cut my fingernails and toenails. (Yes, this is a task I have to actively plan into my day or it doesn't get done until I end up with dagger-nails stabbing my own palms and slicing through my socks. (My nails don't break. This is not actually a blessing.) We all have our seemingly innocuous tasks that are inexplicably difficult to start.)

2. Got a haircut before work.

3. Babysat the office alone all day because Miss Goldberry was out sick. It was mostly boring, but people did come for both the rooms tour and the studio tour, so that's something.

4. Continued reading Wheel of the Infinite; I'm now about 2/3 of the way through.

5. Listened to three more lectures in my Mesoamerican history series.

6. Baked brownies for church coffee hour tomorrow morning.

7. Printed and gathered the documents I need to finish my tax return during my shift at Not the IRS tomorrow afternoon.

8. Prepped to do laundry tomorrow evening.

And now I think I will go to bed. :)
