Things I did at work today:

1. Updated the 2020-2021 tours and inquiries spreadsheet with the Saturday tour info, and emailed everyone who came on a tour since the last mass email. (This is not a mailing list, per se. The tour attendance record is mostly so we can allocate commissions accurately, but also so we can tell people what apartments they've already seen, and do some statistical analysis on conversion rates. The email is just a, "You came on one of our tours recently, so here's a reminder of how our rental process works and some links to useful info on our website. Have a great day!" sort of thing. You only ever get it once, no matter how many tours you go on.)

2. Scanned, uploaded, and emailed all the remaining leases in the never-ending stack (except for one where we need some additional info from one tenant; there I just emailed the tenant to say, "Hey, you need to provide us [info] so we can complete your lease"). Then I left a note for Miss California to tell her those parts were done, and ask her to attach the files to the relevant Rent Manager accounts and do the relevant Rent Manager data entry.

3. Scanned, uploaded, attached, and filed a whole bunch of signed lease guarantees. (We do a parental rent payment guarantee instead of a credit check or a rental history check, because the latter options are generally useless for college students.)

4. The usual package stuff, plus attempting to help three separate tenants track down packages that had gone astray. Two turned out to have been left in their mailboxes by USPS (which is normal! but nobody seems to remember that mailboxes are a thing *headdesk*), while the third was signed for and picked up by a roommate on Friday, but mysteriously vanished before reaching the actual addressee. I gave the tenant the tracking numbers for their two packages from Friday, and wished them good luck figuring out A) what they were and B) where they'd gone.

5. Dropped off tour notifications for Tuesday.

6. Wiped the September section of our modular three-month whiteboard calendar and wrote up the December calendar to replace it. I have taken to decorating the header of each module with a little doodle as well as the month name, so December now has three pine trees with random red dots to signify ornaments. :D (October has a pumpkin. November has some autumn foliage. September had some red fruit that I intended as apples, but which came out more like cherries.)

7. Answered a bunch of phone calls.

8. Did the salesperson spiel with various people who walked in to the office in search of housing, with varying degrees of vagueness about what they were looking for.

9. Scanned and emailed some approved sublease contracts.

10. Entered some work orders for people who, for whatever reason, decided to enter their maintenance requests through the rental office rather than contacting the maintenance department directly.

11. Completely forgot to update our Craigslist ads or ask Aunt Boss what she wants done with regard to a new-to-us apartment listing website she wants us to advertise on. ARGH. Oh well, there's always Thursday, and I'm pretty sure the lease stack will not have regenerated nearly to the height it was at today, to say nothing of what was waiting on my desk last Thursday morning.

And now I am going to bed, because sleep is delicious and I have a phone call scheduled with Susan for Tuesday morning. :D
