wherein Liz is buried in snow
Dec. 2nd, 2019 08:35 pmI got up half an hour early today, on the assumption that it would take me approximately 30 minutes to dig out my car and driveway. As soon as I opened the front door and realized the depth of snow on the front steps, that plan went RIGHT out the window. *sigh*
Unfortunately the bus system was also going "ACK HELP" in response to the storm, so I couldn't catch a bus until 9:00am (when I am supposed to be unlocking the rental office door) and then the bus itself was diverted to a snow route so I had to walk several blocks from Cornell campus to Collegetown instead of getting off at Collegetown directly. UGH.
But work was pretty low-pressure, and the snow has stopped, and walking home from downtown was much less unpleasant than walking south in the morning (when I was trudging in the street because only half the sidewalks were shoveled yet), and I am sitting in my warm apartment with a tasty BLT for dinner, so, you know. A good end to a tiresome day.
Also tomorrow I need to call the urology office because when they called me this morning to confirm my Wednesday appointment (followup ultrasound check from my summer 2018 kidney stone), the receptionist said 12:30pm, but my appointment card says 2:30pm and I need that resolved. (Other tasks for tomorrow include shoveling the driveway, finishing the rough car-unearthing job I did this evening, and my weekly grocery run. Maybe also vacuuming my apartment, depending on how much my shoulders hate me after I move several hundred pounds of snow.)
