Things done thus far today:

1. Gave blood! \o/

2. Since I was at the library anyway (that's where the blood drive was), I picked up a book I had on hold (Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo), and checked out another random book (nonfiction about US state immigration policies before the country established a federal immigration policy in the late 19th century; I forget the title) that caught my eye on a display shelf.

3. LAUNDRY.

4. Changed linens.

5. Ate lunch. I am nearly done with the pot roast I made a week or two ago. I should make something else in a large batch that I can freeze in easily reheated portions. Possibly bean soup? I believe I have all the ingredients: beans, carrots, ham, a cube or two of chicken bouillon, maybe a bay leaf or two... Eh, I have the recipe written down at home, so it's whatever.

6. Took compost to bin, which still has not been picked up/emptied. I will text Landlord Dude about that tomorrow, assuming nobody picks it up tonight.

7. Emptied my wastebaskets and took the trash out to the bin.

Now I am at Not the IRS, killing some time until my first scheduled client at 5pm. (I mean, technically I have a client scheduled at 4:30, but that's an appointment set a whole year ago, at that client's last tax prep appointment, and we were unable to reach them to confirm, cancel, or reschedule so I'm not really expecting them to show up.)

Things done since last post:

1. Rescheduled my 5pm tax prep client to tomorrow morning with one of my coworkers; apparently they had a dogsitting crisis and couldn't make it today. *hands* My 6pm client was lovely, though, so whatever.

2. Wrote ~250 words of the Narnia bridge fic. I have less and less idea where this is going, but at least I have established that Protagonist thinks Naiad is pretty and Naiad thinks Protagonist is interesting? Also they are now talking about how taxes work on both a theoretical and practical level, which is extremely annoying since this fic is meant to be about how to build literal bridges when all your rivers and streams are living people who apparently feel bridges as chains. (I mean, the kinky answer is to introduce naiads to bondage as a lifestyle choice, but that is so incredibly NOT where I am trying to go with this. *headdesk*)

3. Read a bunch more of Sovereign, by C. J. Sansom, which is good because for a bit there it seemed like I might be hopelessly distracted by life and have to return in to the library unfinished.

4. Bought some supplemental groceries.

5. Mixed up another batch of soapy water and sprayed down all my pepper plants (and my eggplant) as thoroughly as possible. I feel like I am finally starting to get on top of the aphids, but I have to stay vigilant every day because their eggs are too tiny for me to spot so they seem to re-infest the plants apparently out of nowhere. *sigh*

And now I shall have a slice of raspberry coffee cake for dessert and fall into bed. :)
