daily update, Wednesday March 18
Mar. 18th, 2020 06:33 pmThings done today:
1. Watered all my houseplants. Also mixed up a new batch of soapy water and sprayed down my eggplant and all my peppers as part of my ongoing war against the aphid infestation. (I am winning. It's just a very slow war of attrition, because their eggs are so tiny and hard to get rid of. But each new round contains fewer eggs, so.)
2. Put away some laundry from Sunday's laundry efforts.
3. Posted a few more Three Sentence Ficathon works to AO3.
4. On a vaguely related note, replied to a bunch of comments that had been lingering in my email inbox for a while.
5. Not the IRS 4pm to... whenever we call it a day, which might be as early as just past 7pm or might not be until just past 8pm. We'll see how my boss feels, since she's the other tax preparer on the schedule tonight.
I had two clients today, both of whom were pretty simple, which was nice.
6. Added 225 "and then" style words to the Narnia/Naruto crossover.
7. Not so much a "thing done," but my mom is trying to organize a 3-way family Zoom chat between my parents, my brother, and me. My schedule was not conducive to that today, so she's going to try a simple chat with Nick tonight, and then another simple chat with me tomorrow.
I'm not entirely sure why we can't just use Skype, which we have successfully done before, but whatever. (I am also unsure whether my laptop's inbuilt camera will work -- it was glitchy as all get out when I last tried to use it for live exercises in my online Spanish class in 2018 -- but I guess we'll find out tomorrow.)
And now I am either going to websurf or read further in Expelling the Poor, depending on my mood. :)

ETA, 9:30pm I wound up having a third client who walked in just as we were about to close at 7:30pm. So that was a little frustrating in terms of schedule readjustment, but hey, productivity! Then I scrammed around 8:10pm, grabbed a few groceries (eggs! which were back in stock! plus milk, crackers, a couple yogurt cups, and some frozen fish patties) that I hadn't been able to get on Tuesday, and caught a bus into town, after which I walked home.
