Things I have done recently:
Friday:
---Dealt with more lease guarantee forms. Began sticking labels on key return envelopes in preparation for distributing move-out information packets. That's going to be interesting this year. Also, apparently we are now encouraging tenants to participate in a sticky note window art challenge, for which I sent out email notifications and printed some signs.
In a random bit of hilarity, the bridesmaid dress company sent me a "your package is on the way! here's the tracking number!" email the day after the package itself had arrived. (Side note: Cat got her dress on Saturday, and reports that she received the shipping email three weeks ago. Amazing coordination, guys. *wry*)
Saturday:
---I spent the day doing nothing in particular, though I did bake a batch of banana bread. It was very relaxing.
Sunday:
1. Watched the FUSIT morning service. Not a livestream today, since it was a group effort by one of the committees -- environmental stuff, in honor of Earth Day -- and they prerecorded it in order to make sure all the moving parts functioned correctly.
2. Folded and put away all my remaining laundry from last Sunday.
3. Took my container garden outside for the afternoon, and back in for the evening.
4. Did a first weeding pass over the back yard garden patch. Also realigned the raspberry fence posts and guided some raspberry canes to rest on the twine support lines.
5. Walked into town and back.
6. Took kitchen compost to the back yard bin.
7. Changed linens.
8. Last week, Mom mailed me three cloth facemasks that she'd made at home. This week, one of my coworkers' parents delivered a batch of fabric facemasks to the rental company, and I was given two of them. Today I adjusted two of them (one of Mom's, one from work) to be more effective. For Mom's masks, this involves folding a small strip of aluminum foil and then sewing a little pocket for it along the top of the mask. The foil can then be bent to seal more tightly over and around the bridge of my nose, which prevents my glasses from fogging up immediately. For the work masks, I did the same foil strip pocket, but also tightened the elastic ear-straps, since they were far too loose for my face and head.
I don't want to make my own masks -- that much hand-stitching sounds terrible -- but tweaking a mask that someone else already constructed is pretty simple.
I'm going to keep working on this project over the coming week.
9. Phone call with Cat. :)
10. Took recycling to the curb for pickup.
11. Did some research to answer a couple questions that will allow me to get back to editing/expanding the Narnia/Naruto crossover prompt fic. \o/
12. Scraped out the disgusting remnants of old sealant and rubber that were no longer holding my kitchen sink faucet tightly in place. Scrubbed the whole area with steel wool to remove gunk. Attempted to apply new sealant.
Realized, to my horror, that my sealant had congealed in the tube since the last time I sealed the faucet lo these many years ago. Fuck. (I really should have seen that coming. I don't know why I didn't. Blind optimism, maybe.)
I'm now attempting to secure new sealant, which is a little awkward given that even essential businesses (which hardware and home supply stores certainly count as!) tend to have reduced hours, and there's the whole social distancing and don't leave home unnecessarily thing. *makes face* But I really need this as soon as possible, because otherwise water's going to leak around the unsealed edges of the faucet fixture and do bad things to the cabinets underneath the sink.
It looks like my two best bets are either Lowes (might be able to go there after work tomorrow) or the Agway up by the mall (which I could hit as part of my grocery run on Tuesday). I guess we'll see how I feel tomorrow evening.
