I keep forgetting to post anything about my life. :(
Um. Anyway. Some things that have occurred since I last posted here:
1. On Wednesday morning, I was awakened around 4:45am by an unholy wailing noise right outside my bedroom window that sounded like nothing I have ever heard before in my life. Honestly, after I woke up enough to remember that ghosts aren't real, I thought it was a weird electronic keyboard effect or something -- it definitely wasn't a bird, and I am dead certain raccoons and opossums don't make that noise.
But! It was suddenly interrupted by a snarling, hissing cat, and the noise backed off toward the front of the house.
The cat then meowed angrily a bit, and the wailing noise drifted back toward my bedroom until there was another bout of snarls and hisses. This repeated another time before it finally occurred to me that this might be one cat attempting to serenade another who wasn't feeling the romance.
So I got up, walked out my back door, and shone my phone's flashlight app along the driveway. I caught one cat looking back as it scrambled away -- the reflective eyes are really quite disconcerting in the grayish pre-dawn twilight -- and after that I was not troubled any further by weird ghostly wails.
...Of course the birds started in on their own unholy racket about half an hour later, but you can't win everything.

2. Speaking of birds! Apparently a flock of something spent the Wednesday-to-Thursday night in the pine tree and the lilac bush that frame part of my driveway, because on Thursday morning my windshield, both front door windows, and the roof and hood of my poor car looked like a Jackson Pollock painting. Ugh. I had to Windex them in order to see enough to drive. Fortunately it rained Thursday night so everything is currently fine.

3. Speaking of rain! Ithaca is currently experiencing mild flooding, by which I mean the lake and the local streams/creeks are a bit over flood stage and the waterfront is thoroughly soggy. Also the grounds of the high school, some parking lots down on Route 13, and the area around Titus Towers, a housing development on the south side of town. Ithaca Falls is so full that I am frequently able to hear it (faintly, but still!) from inside my apartment. Normally I have to go outside and walk at least half a block toward the waterfall for it to become audible.

4. ...Okay, I don't have a good transition for this item. But at work Miss California and I have finally finished the data entry for all our old paper apartment tour sheets. \o/ Now it's onward to the next project, as soon as Aunt Boss decides what that should be. (I mean, my personal next project is to take and upload some specific photos of one of our properties since I realized today that they apparently don't exist, and I therefore couldn't email them to a prospective tenant. But that will take like one hour max on Monday.)

5. And speaking of Monday! I think that by then I should have a working beta draft of the Narnia/Naruto crossover that I can print using my work printer (yes, I use work resources for personal projects; we all do; it's fine and nobody cares) and start attacking with red pen. See, I am so close to turning the last of the "and then" sections into proper narrative and then I just need to go back and fix some character motivation stuff in the opening scene so it matches what people actually end up doing. (Current word count = 12,971 words, what even is my life)
I am really looking forward to tearing this whole thing apart and putting it back together stronger. :DDD
