Aug. 15th, 2020 09:28 pmToday. Has been. A DAY.
I got in to work at 9am, whereupon I made myself some tea; combined one of my mini-studio staging single-box kits with a couple throw pillows, a box of kitchen stuff, a picture what hangs on a wall, and an extra spare plant; chucked the whole mess into a big plastic storage bin; chucked the bin onto a moving cart; and set off to stage, photograph, and un-stage two 4th floor studios because we had zero (0) pictures of one and really shitty pictures of the other.
I got back to the office at just about 10am on the dot, whereupon I set up my laptop, turned my phone into a mobile hotspot, and signed into Zoom for the church Board of Trustees retreat/meeting thing. That ran slightly long, and I got partially interrupted twice (once by Mom Boss bringing some new window signs -- which I just remembered I forgot to put up, whoops! -- and once by Ms. Rise-and-Shine and her daughter-in-law coming to discuss apartment staging and video logistics), but all in all I think it went well.
Then I spent two extremely hot and sweaty hours staging mini-studios, photographing mini-studios, and un-staging mini-studios. That would not have worked AT ALL except that I'd photographed some of the apartments the previous week, which gave me just enough spare time to keep about one minute ahead of Mr. Geniality and Daughter-in-Law as they shot videos.
But we now have video of three mini-studios and the single true studio in one building, and seven mini-studios in another building, so I count the whole thing as a win.
...
And then I had to grab lunch (pizza and garlic knots because it's low effort comfort food, okay) and let folks know I was going to be half an hour late for the joint Board/staff part of the Zoom retreat/meeting, but I managed to participate usefully. (I also remembered to punch in for work at about 2pm -- I meant to do that at 1pm, but eh, details.)
I agreed to some church tasks that I frankly do not have the time, energy, or mental/emotional spoons to deal with tonight so they will be Sunday projects. (Other Sunday projects will include laundry, gardening, and probably cooking some kind of vegetable sidedish.)
After the meeting ended, I spent about half an hour going "aaaaaaah" quietly to myself and downloading photos from the camera to the shared office drive, after which I took a prospect on a tour at 4:30pm (prognosis: likely rental, maybe also bringing a friend to rent a second unit?), spent half an hour trying to catch up on email and update a spreadsheet I'd been too tired/out-of-time to deal with since Wednesday, and then took another prospect on a tour at 5:30pm (prognosis: ???).
Then I looked at my life, looked at my choices, and decided what the hell. So I reorganized the now very disorganized single-box staging kits, chucked one into the plastic bin along with some throw pillows, kitchen stuff, and a second fake plant, and went to stage, photograph, and un-stage two more studios.
...Which reminds me that I need to text Maintenance Guy to tell him I inspected one of those studios and it needs [redacted maintenance thing] done but other than that it's okay.
Then I went home, where I microwaved some frozen dinner shrimp egg rolls, drank some hard cider, and now think I may just fall into bed. Possibly after eating some coffee cake, because I have had A DAY and I deserve cake.
Yes. I will go get some cake.
