During the brief parts of Thursday I was awake for, I spent some time poking at "The Guardian in Spite of Herself" chapter 18, which was... interesting, I guess? Turns out the bit I was stressed over last year wound up being nothing, but during the hiatus I have completely forgotten all my minor OCs who make up the trade caravan so my new text is full of stuff like [name] and [some person] and [somebody else], which I will fix up later, after I roll some dice to figure out who died. (Possibly literally roll dice. That's how I did chuunin exam matchups way back in "Apartment Manager," with a few tweaks for narrative/political viability, so I know it's a workable method.)

Anyway, the next few paragraphs are mostly going to be a bunch of triage and corpse disposal, because I'm writing about broken social systems as much as I'm writing action/adventure, and messy aftermaths are an important part of that.

...

Tonight I wrote a little original fiction snippet for [community profile] fan_flashworks which I'll make a proper link post to tomorrow.

For now, I am off to bed.
