Things I learned today:

If I am using my phone as a mobile hotspot so I can join a Zoom meeting on my laptop from the back of an office at work, and somebody calls my phone during the Zoom meeting, A) I will not hear the phone call coming in and B) I will not receive any voicemail they leave.

...

Fortunately when I called Surgicare just after 5pm to say I'd been expecting a call but hadn't received it and what were my instructions, someone was in the office to explain things to me. We then figured out what had gone wrong with the morning call.

Anyway, my surgery is at 8:00am Friday. I cannot consume anything other than clear liquids after 11:00pm tonight, and nothing at all after 5:00am Friday morning. My pre-surgery check-in is 6:45am, and I should be released sometime between 9:00 and 9:30am.

After that my plan is as follows:

1. Breakfast and pills
2. Go back to sleep
3. Lunch
4. Laundry and groceries in the afternoon, using Mom as my hands
5. Dinner
6. Go to bed early

I also have to check my work email at some point to see what is or isn't going on with a potential lease start date change (in one case, it's not my problem; in another, I need to ensure that Mr. Geniality gets some items to the Commons office so I'll have them on hand), but other than that I expect a slow day.

And then Mom will drive me to work Saturday morning, I will type slow and one-handed emails and ad text all day, and walk home in the evening. I don't even want to think about driving a car until I absolutely need to... which will, of course, be Sunday morning when I head in to my shift at Not the IRS, where I will type slow and one-handed tax returns. *wry*

And now, good night! Tomorrow I will go intentionally lose a knife fight with a surgeon.
