So my parents and I have been trading my grandmother's 2004 Camry back and forth for... oh, years now, which is kinda-sorta technically illegal (shhh!) in that some years it's in my physical possession longer than in theirs but they still hold the registration.

We have decided that this is not tenable much longer, even without my planned move to Minnesota next spring/summer. For one thing, illegal. For another, the Camry is seventeen years old and, while in remarkably good shape, all things considered, still starting to get a little wheezy around the edges.

So Mom and Dad are driving up Thursday evening, and Friday morning they'll help me buy a used car.

They helped Nick with the down payment for his house, but since I do not intend to buy a house any time soon, they decided helping me buy a car outright and to heck with installments is a reasonable equivalent.

I have finally rebuilt enough savings that I probably could buy a moderately used car outright and only need to tighten my belt for six months or so, but you know, why turn down a helping hand? Also I have never purchased a car so having someone who's been through the process around to offer advice will be very welcome. *wry*

I rearranged my work schedule slightly so we will have Friday free and clear until 1pm. This does require me to work 10am-2pm tomorrow instead of having the day off, but honestly, I feel like that is logistically helpful anyway? There are several apartments I want to stage, photograph, and video which I expect to be occupied by Tuesday afternoon, let alone Wednesday morning, so getting access to that brief window of turned-over-but-not-reoccupied is vital.

And now I think I will go tackle some more tax continuing education, blargh.
