I've seen the idea of regenerating or replenishable souls in other series -- most recently in Jim Butcher's Dresden Files -- but I think JKR implicitly ruled it out by the way each successive fragmentation of his soul changed Voldemort for the worse. To me, that implies that his soul did not renew itself; the flayed creature Harry sees in King's Cross, at the end of DH, also seems to support that interpretation.
