My family is attempting to do summer vacation scheduling already. Apparently our side of the family (by which I mean 'my parents and possibly my step-grandmother,' and I do not mean 'my dad's sister, her husband, my cousins, and their wives and kids') has the cabin from the first week of August through mid-September.

So Vicky and I have been invited up anywhere between about August 10 (when my mom goes back to NJ and work) and September 15 (when my dad will presumably close the cabin and go home).

My mom and I are already trying to get plane reservations worked out, probably for August 12 and August 19.

Argh.

I hate how far in advance you have to do any of this stuff to have even a prayer of getting semi-reasonable ticket prices. It is RIDICULOUS.

...

Also, yesterday I reserved a rental car for Cat's wedding, and made an appointment to get my eyes checked. It's been almost two years since my last check-up, and I probably need new lenses again. Especially since I will be doing highway driving in a month. :-)

(It says something about my deeply ingrained laziness that I knew I should get new glasses for at least six months before I actually made an appointment, back in 2006. The final trigger was that I needed to switch my driver's license, and I knew they'd make me take an eye test, which I needed new glasses to pass. *headdesk*)

And now I am off to run some errands.
