1. I printed the rough draft of "Secrets" ch. 12 today. It is 31 pages long. *boggles at sheaf of paper*

I can keep track of 10-15 pages on the screen, but there comes a length where I really need to print the sucker out just to conceptually get hold of it as a unit. And 31 pages is definitely past that critical length.

I'd known I always get horribly longwinded with that story, but abstract knowledge and visceral proof are two very different beasts. *stares at sheaf of paper some more*

2. Today I made some semi-tacky ornaments out of the plastic beads I've had sitting in a cupboard for something like ten years. I think I shall foist them off on various relatives. *evil grin*

3. I also did some heavy brainstorming for my Yuletide fic. I'm about 80% sure I know what I want to write; the trick now is pulling together the relevant details from canon and actually putting words onto the page. *sigh* That's always the tricky part.

4. On the church front, I have been asked to speak for a few minutes about my experiences teaching RE, probably on Dec. 14th. *bites nails* I think I'm a decent public speaker, but I feel like a sort of fraud talking about RE -- and this despite the fact that I've taught Sunday school off and on since I was in high school! But I never really feel competent or inspiring, just sort of comfortable and reliable.

There is, of course, nothing wrong with being a comfortable and reliable teacher! It's just that I don't feel... mmm... justified in standing in front of the congregation and tacitly saying, "Hey, I'm a good teacher, listen to me." *shrug* Oh well, I can fake confidence well enough.
