Today we (that would be Auntie Jan, Uncle Bob, Dad, me, and Carol Ryan from next door) hiked out to O'Neil's Point, which is the northeast point of the island. It's a long walk, somewhere over three hours round trip. Of course, we took a break and rested on the way back, but still, it was a lot of walking!

I was viciously attacked by a stinging nettle, and learned from Carol Ryan that the stings can be soothed by rubbing them with a sword fern and the sap thereof. It really works!

We saw deer and raccoon tracks on the point, and passed the deer itself on the way back. They sometimes cross the ice in the winter and stay on the island once it melts.
