In return for kicking my ass into gear on my attempt to go back to college, Vicky asked me to be her external fiction writing motivation. So I told her she owed me a 5,000-word story about a female character attempting to solve a non-romantic problem for a friend. She emailed it to me on April 1, and I plan to read it and send her comments today or tomorrow, whenever I have a couple hours free and am awake enough to think clearly and analytically.

(I am willing to write while half-asleep or muddled from illness and/or medication. I am not willing to edit or beta-read under those circumstances. Proper editing -- or even making occasional useful comments -- requires much clearer thought and tighter control.)
