When I checked the weather last night, they were predicting a 40% chance of thunderstorms today. Generally this means the storms will miss us, or be rather glancing.
Today we hit the jackpot, so to speak. *sigh* At least it cut the heat for a while?
Anyway, I was in to work at 9am after far too little sleep, and PM and I spent the morning and early afternoon catching up on various things that had fallen by the wayside for a few days, such as changing the fluorescent ceiling lights, putting together several transfer requests for our other two stores, and, in her case, catching up on a week's worth of paperwork. We also had more customers than we often do these days -- I was told, in passing, that one local gas station is closed (temporarily? permanently?) which might explain the sudden uptick -- and since BW didn't arrive until about 1:15pm, this meant one of us was almost constantly trapped at the counter while the other dealt with the daily list or various maintenance tasks.
By lunch break my feet were killing me. They always hurt at least five times worse when I have not had enough sleep for a couple days, and that was certainly the case today. (They still hurt, and I have been sitting at a library computer for 45 minutes now. Boo hiss.) So I splurged on the takeout buffet at Jade Garden (the local Chinese place) instead of being frugal and eating cheese and crackers for lunch. *sigh* It was totally worth it, though.
And now I am heading home, possibly by way of the grocery store.
Here's hoping the rain has stopped.
