Once I mentally edited out the stupid romance subplot (which is remarkably easy to do; I have long practice at that skill), Susan was indeed kick-ass... except for the fight in the castle courtyard where she just stands there with her bow strung and an arrow nocked and has all the time in the world to shoot Miraz -- or, given that plot requirements forbid that -- shoot somebody... and does nothing until someone grabs her and slings her over a centaur during the mad rush to beat the descent of the portcullis.

Can you tell I am still bitter over that moment? Just a little? :-/
